Local Living Magazine, a regional lifestyle magazine, has recently launched a cable TV show on WMCN-TV.
“We are thrilled to be taking print media to the next level,” says Karen Lavery, the magazine’s Director of Operations. “By linking our local magazine with our own television show, we’re giving our readers variety, options, and a whole new and innovative way to get information.”
For Local Living Magazine, this next level actually comes in two steps. First, readers may have noticed a full-page ad in recent issues detailing the use of Microsoft Tags in various places throughout the magazine. The second step in Local Living Magazine’s walk into the future is a television show in which advertisers who purchased a cover profile in the magazine get a two-page profile that is tagged. When someone scans the tag, they will get the 2-minute spot from the TV show on their phone, effectively tying the magazine and the show together.
The show’s host, Dorothy Cascerceri, is a vibrant voice in the celebrity world with work experience at People magazine, Life & Style Weekly, the National Enquirer and this area’s own newspaper, “The Intelligencer.” Dorothy, who is a native of Montgomery and Bucks counties, has been featured discussing pop culture on Access Hollywood, E! News, Chelsea Lately, The Wendy Williams Show, Geraldo At Large, Extra, The Insider and VH1.
Blair Johnson is the show’s co-host. He is originally from New Orleans, and started out in the entertainment industry in New York City. He performed and toured in several musical theater productions, as well as releasing an album. Blair moved to Philadelphia with his family and pursued a career in marketing, as well as performing
in regional theater and several commercials. He became a familiar voice on Philadelphia radio stations, including WMGK and BEN FM. For the past ten years, Blair has been working in the marketing/broadcast industry and has received three ADDY awards for his talents.
